Choosing the Right BBQ Grills

When summer rolls around you want to be able to entertain outdoors. One of the best ways to entertain outdoors is to have a BBQ. Well, to do that you need BBQ grills, but choosing the right one can be difficult. Choosing the wrong one can be an expensive mistake. 
Remember that while some models will perform well and may be the absolute best on the market, they may not be right for you. Take into account your budget and this will help you narrow down the BBQ grills that you should be looking at. 
Expense 
When expense in a concern turn to charcoal BBQ grills. These are usually a lot cheaper than gas grills. It may be a little more difficult to use but you will find that the price difference is worth the extra effort of firing up your grill. 
Stainless steel BBQ grills are also less expensive than painted grills. If you do decide to go with a painted grill then be prepared for wear and tear to ensue fairly quickly.

Especially if left outside, painted grills need more care to last longer. It may be worth it to invest in stainless steel BBQ grills. 
Space
The amount of food that you will be grilling is very important when choosing BBQ grills. If you will be grilling for only one or two people or three at most then something with 75 square inch grill will be fine. If you intend to grill for more people then your grill size has to increase. Or you will end up grilling forever and feeding people in very small batches. 
Don’t be fooled by the sticker on most BBQ grills. Some grills will list the warming rack as part of the grilling service. If this is the case then you will end up with a much smaller grill. Get a good look at the grill that you want, this will give you a good idea of how much grilling space you have rather than just reading numbers and square inches. 
Make Life Easy
When choosing grills you want to make life easier, so get a grill that has wheels on it. Think about the trouble you will have when it starts to rain and you want to move the grill to a covered area. Wheels will be a great asset no matter what type of grill you buy. 
If convenience is a big factor then remember that charcoal grills take a lot of time to prepare and clean. With a charcoal grill you need to wait for the grill to heat up before cooking and cool down before you can clean it. Gas grills have knobs that will allow you to control the heat and are much easier to clean.

Homemade BBQ Grills

Whether you just want to have a relaxing family meal or plan on having guests over for a party, the BBQ is a great option. It fits the bill for so many occasions! The BBQ is great for setting the tone of an evening, there is something about a BBQ that tends to relax people more than any other party theme.

The obvious key to the BBQ party is the BBQ grill itself. Now if you don’t already have a BBQ grill you have a lot of options when it comes to getting one. One option is the store bought BBQ, these are a good option if you have plenty of money to spend, a good sturdy model that won’t fade away after one or two seasons will cost you quite a bit!

For me the better value for money is in building your own brick BBQ grill. It takes quite a bit more effort than just driving down to the local store and buying one but once you’ve finished it’s well worth the effort.

If you’re weighing up whether or not to go for a brick BBQ in your back yard, here’s a couple of things worth considering;

1) Security: If you have a secure yard or a secure garage to lock your shiny new store bought BBQ safely away in, great, you can sleep easy knowing it won’t be stolen.

However if you don’t have a garage and your yard isn’t so secure then a brick BBQ is your best bet, because it obviously wont be robbed from your garden.

2) Frequency of Use: If you intend to use your BBQ grill regularly, then a brick BBQ grill that’s permanently in position will be perfect. However if you’re not sure just how much you’ll use your new grill maybe its best to buy a cheap grill from the store, just to see if you get enough use from it, before you go building a permanent BBQ fixture in your garden.

3) Space: How much space have you got to work with? If your garden is a reasonable size, well then a brick BBQ should sit nicely into it without taking over.

But if you can barely swing a cat in your yard, maybe a smaller BBQ from the store is a better idea.

When all is said and done, a brick BBQ will suit the vast majority of yards, remember you can tailor the size and look of the whole thing to suit your space.

Some of these were as a result of having joined the Hash House Harriers. Those of you who are unfamiliar with this club, hereafter called H3, it is a club that meets on a fairly regular basis to go for a run or in our case, walk along a trail set by some other members. Throughout the afternoon the chorus of OnOn is heard, is it a bird or is it a band of crazy people? After a sometimes strenuous walk, climb or whatever, we gather around the bbq at the chosen site to drink a few beers, have a bbq and chat for a while. H3 in Sakhalin is mainly active through the summer months but during the winter months when running is not really possible, the club meets at one of the bars to catch up on news etc and to keep everyone in touch. Everyone in this illustrious club has a nickname (hash name) after they have completed a number of runs or have done something truly memorable.
